Last Wednesday, Congressman Gerlach won his third straight straw poll in Chester County, carrying 76% of all committee votes cast. There is one straw poll remaining which takes place this week, before the formal endorsement meeting. Overall, Jim leads his next closest competitor by more than 60 votes, and is well positioned to again earn the endorsement of the Republican Committee of Chester County. Last month, Jim also won the endorsement of Montgomery County Republican Chairman Bob Kerns.
Every Member of PA's Congressional Delegation Backs Gerlach
In a letter released today, all seven Republican members of Pennsylvania's congressional delegation urged Republican leaders in the 6th district to support Congressman Jim Gerlach for re-election. It stated, "We have seen Jim's work ethic and commitment to taxpayers up close. And we know he will continue to be a terrific Congressman who keeps a watchful eye on government spending, oppose efforts to grow government beyond its means and fight job-threatening policies like cap-and-trade." Gerlach Opposes Raising National Debt by $1.9 Trillion; Talks Energy & Jobs with Times Herald
Congressman Gerlach last week voted against raising the national debt ceiling by another 15% - or $1.9 trillion. It is the largest one-time debt increase in American history. You can read more here.
